IPRO updates

Research led by Integrity Professionals Limited (IPRO) has just been released in Auckland at the Pacific Aotearoa Summit Vision by the Minister of Finance Grant Robertson.

See the report here.

The research utilised the Treasury’s Living Standards Framework to explore the economic footprint of the Pasifika community in New Zealand’s economy. It shows the important contribution of Pacific peoples to the New Zealand economy. Pasifika communities contribute $8 billion to the New Zealand gross domestic product. The research also illustrated that Pasifika have a wider perspective and definition of wealth and prosperity. For example, knowledge, fanau, faith, education, health, culture and being happy and safe were key descriptions of wealth and prosperity. In order to focus on improving living standards we need to explore opportunities to capitalise on the Pasifika economy.

Integrity Professionals would like to thank our funders Treasury New Zealand and the Pacific Business Trust for their support. IPRO would also like to recognise our partners who have supported this critical piece of work Dr Ganesh Nana and Sam Green from BERL – Business and Economic Research Limited (http://www.berl.co.nz)  and the Central Pacific Collective – Perenise Ropeti and Anthony Carter (http://www.cpcollective.org.nz). The IPRO team that led the work included Catherine Poutasi – Director, Dr Odette Frost-Kruse, Edmond Fehoko, Rayoni Keith and Nadeen Parton.
